Hello District 3!
Week 6 is in the books and we are officially into the homestretch of the General 2025 Legislative Session. As we enter into the busiest week of the Session, I wanted to update you on the goings on in and around Capitol Hill and the legislation we are working on.

Week 6 Legislative Update
|
|
I’m pleased to report that HB361, my bill focused on expanding drug overdose training, has successfully passed the House and is now moving to the Senate for further consideration. This legislation ensures that individuals obtaining alcohol sales permits are trained in recognizing and responding to drug overdoses using naloxone (Narcan). With 606 overdose-related deaths in Utah last year—a troubling 14.3% increase—providing more people with lifesaving knowledge is critical.
Additionally, I’m excited to share that my latest bill, HB524, has been unanimously passed out of the House Health and Human Services Committee to the full House body for consideration. This bill seeks to prohibit the sale of supplement vapes (vitamin vapes) and other inhalation products that lack FDA approval, helping to prevent unregulated and potentially harmful products from circulating in our state.

With only a short time left in the session, I remain focused on advocating for policies that reflect our district's needs and concerns. I also want to hear from you. Please take a moment to fill out the survey linked below to share your thoughts on the work being done this year. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping my priorities.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve you and look forward to providing one final update next week as we wrap up the session.
Thank you,
